Gap is a commune in southeastern France, the capital and largest town of the Hautes-Alpes department. Step off the beaten path and head to Moulin Fortune Arizzi and Col d'Izoard. Take a break from the city and head to Les Karellis and Gorges du Toulourenc. Get out of town with these interesting Gap side-trips: Roussillon (Tapiezo & Le Sentier des Ocres), Forcalquier (Ganagobie Abbey & Citadelle de Forcalquier) and Abbaye Notre-Dame de Senanque (in Gordes). There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Abbaye de Boscodon, do some two-wheel cruising with Col du Galibier, take in the dramatic natural features at Gorges de la Meouge, and explore the historical opulence of Les Forts de l'Esseillon.

To see maps, ratings, more things to do, and more tourist information, go to the Gap vacation planner.

If you are flying in from Israel, the closest major airports are Grenoble-Isère Airport, Chambéry-Savoie Airport and Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
