Founded over 2,000 years ago, Vannes is a vacation harbor town with beaches, shopping, museums, and gardens, as well as interesting medieval city gates and timber-framed houses scattered throughout its Old Town.
Step off the beaten path and head to Cote Sauvage and Basilique Notre Dame du Roncier. Get some historical perspective at Cathedrale Saint Pierre and Eglise Saint Cornely. Explore Vannes' surroundings by going to Pointe de Kerpenhir (in Locmariaquer), (Mégalithes) Menhirs De Monteneuf (in Monteneuf) and Univers du Poete Ferrailleur (in Lizio).
