Founded in 1842, the town of Salento represents the oldest established settlement in Quindio.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Kasaguadua Natural Reserve and El Palacio del Barbas. Visiting Bosques de Cocora and Balsaje la Berraquera will get you outdoors. Step out of Salento with an excursion to Parroquia Jesus Maria y Jose in Quimbaya--about 42 minutes away. There's lots more to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Iglesia Nuestra Senora del Carmen, view the masterpieces at Region Paisaje / Landscape Region, and relax in the rural setting at El Recuerdo Finca Cafetera Tradicional.

Take a break from the city and head to Playa de Bocagrande and Scuba & Snorkeling. Do some cultural sightseeing at Templo de Santo Domingo and Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas.
