Recognized as a World Heritage Site thanks to its photogenic colonial buildings, Puebla remains one of Mexico's top destinations for architecture enthusiasts.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Africam Safari and Estrella de Puebla. Get some cultural insight at Iglesia de Tonantzintla and Zocalo. Step out of Puebla to go to San Pedro Cholula and see La monarca, which is approximately 32 minutes away. There's still lots to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Rosary Chapel (Capilla del Rosario), explore the ancient world of Zona Arqueológica de Cholula, see the interesting displays at Amparo Museum (Museo Amparo), and look for gifts at Uriarte Talavera.

On the 24th (Tue), explore the historical opulence of San Juan de Ulua, examine the collection at City Museum, and then kick back and relax at Chachalacas Beach. On your second day here, meet the residents at Aquarium of Veracruz.

Drive from Puebla to Veracruz in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and flight; or take a bus. Traveling from Puebla in July, you will find days in Veracruz are somewhat warmer (36°C), and nights are much warmer (27°C). On the 25th (Wed), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel to Zacatecas.

Expect a bit cooler weather when traveling from Veracruz in July: highs in Zacatecas hover around 28°C, while lows dip to 14°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 27th (Fri) early enough to go by car to San Miguel de Allende.
