Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get some historical perspective at St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika) and Hősök tere. On the 6th (Tue), stroll through Kadriorg Park, then don't miss a visit to Town Hall Square, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, and finally take a stroll through Toompea Hill. Built on a desolate swamp as a showcase capital of Imperial Russia, this grand city has certainly lived up to the expectations of its founder, Tsar Peter the Great.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like St. Isaac's Cathedral State Museum-Memorial and Peter and Paul Fortress (Petropavlovskaya Krepost). Step off the beaten path and head to Palace Square (Dvortsovaya Ploshchad) and Faberge Museum. When in St. Petersburg, make a side trip to see Naval Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Kronshtadt, approximately 48 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: see the interesting displays at Russian Museum, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, and get engrossed in the history at Kazan Cathedral.

You can drive from Tallinn to St. Petersburg in 5.5 hours. Other options are to fly; or do a combination of ferry and train. The time zone changes from Eastern European Time to Moscow Standard Time, which is usually a 1 hour difference. In June, plan for daily highs up to 69°F, and evening lows to 53°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Mon) early enough to travel to Kotor.
