Calgary, Canada to San Jose is an approximately 12.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and bus; or drive. The time zone changes from Mountain Standard Time (MST) to Central Standard Time (CST), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Traveling from Calgary in July, San Jose is a bit warmer at night with lows of 23°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Sun) to allow time to travel to Manuel Antonio.

The white sand beach of Playa Flamingo has become a go-to tourist getaway by the sea.
Visit Playa Conchal and Playa Nacascolo for some beach relaxation. Step out of the city life by going to Llanos de Cortez Waterfall and Dolphin & Whale Watching. Change things up with these side-trips from Playa Flamingo: El Viejo Wetlands (in Area de Conservacion Guanacaste), Puerto Carrillo (in Nicoya) and Playa Hermosa (in Playa Hermosa). Next up on the itinerary: play a few rounds at Garra de Leon Golf Course, stop by Bahia Artshop, get interesting insight from Tours, and choose your vessel at Costa Rica Sailing Center.

You can drive from Monteverde to Playa Flamingo in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and bus; or do a combination of shuttle and bus. In July in Playa Flamingo, expect temperatures between 38°C during the day and 27°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 22nd (Sun) to allow enough time to take a shuttle to Tamarindo.
