The country's first established capital, Nara houses some of the most storied buildings and natural attractions in Japan, with eight World Heritage Sites in total.
Start off your visit on the 28th (Sat): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Joruri Temple. On the next day, take in the spiritual surroundings of Toshodaiji Temple, take in the spiritual surroundings of Yakushi-ji Temple, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Wakakusa, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Nigatsu-do Temple, then stroll around Nara Park, and finally get engrossed in the history at Nara National Museum.

Traveling by train from Osaka to Nara takes an hour. Alternatively, you can drive. September in Nara sees daily highs of 33°C and lows of 26°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 1st (Tue) early enough to catch the train to Kyoto.
