Start off your visit on the 9th (Mon): take in nature's colorful creations at Giardini di Augusto, explore the striking landscape at I Faraglioni, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Parco Astarita.

The capital of Sicily, Palermo was founded by the Phoenicians under the name of Ziz.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Riserva Naturale Orientata dello Zingaro and Duomo di Cefalu. Get out of town with these interesting Palermo side-trips: Santuario Di San Vito (in San Vito lo Capo), Cefalu (Oratorio del Santissimo Sacramento, La Rocca, & more) and Duomo di Monreale (in Monreale). The adventure continues: kick back and relax at Spiaggia di Macari, take in the spiritual surroundings of Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cattedrale di Palermo, and admire the striking features of Norman Palace and Palatine Chapel.
