A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.
Take a break from the city and head to Île de la Cité and Seine River. Museum-lovers will appreciate Palace of Versailles and Louvre Museum. The adventure continues: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilique du Sacre-Coeur de Montmartre, pause for some photo ops at Arc de Triomphe, take a stroll through Montmartre, and admire the natural beauty at Luxembourg Gardens.

Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Rouen and Chateau d'Harcourt will appeal to history buffs. Get a sense of the local culture at Musee des Beaux-Arts de Rouen and Cote Sainte-Catherine. Explore Rouen's surroundings by going to Deauville Beach (in Deauville) and Falaises d'Etretat (in Etretat). There's still lots to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Abbatiale Saint-Ouen, don't miss a visit to Saint Catherine's Church, take a stroll through Rue du Gros-Horloge, and snap pictures at Pont de Normandie.

Best known as a fortified town, Carcassonne is a walled city that provided the inspiration for the castle in Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" and the location for many scenes in Kevin Costner's movie "Robin Hood." For a daily dose of excitement, medieval jousting tournaments are held twice per day between the two walls--while this may sound like a typical touristy show, it's actually an entertaining display of combative competition and horsemanship.
Start off your visit on the 5th (Wed): learn about winemaking at O'Vineyards, pause for some serene contemplation at St. Vincent's Church, appreciate the extensive heritage of Cité de Carcassonne, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Eglise Saint-Nazaire, and finally contemplate the long history of Cathar Castles. On your second day here, explore the historical opulence of Chateau Comtal, then snap pictures at Le Pont Vieux (The Old Bridge), then Head underground at Gouffre Geant de Cabrespine, and finally contemplate the waterfront views at Canal du Midi.
