When in Tamarindo, make a side trip to see Playa Conchal in Playa Conchal, approximately 38 minutes away. Winnipeg, Canada to Tamarindo is an approximately 14.5-hour flight. Prepare for much hotter weather when traveling from Winnipeg in February: high temperatures in Tamarindo hover around 39°C and lows are around 25°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 7th (Wed) so you can go by car to Monteverde.
