Founded in the 10th century as a Viking fishing village, Copenhagen has morphed into the cultural, political, and economic powerhouse of the country.
Venture out of the city with trips to Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (in Humlebaek) and Kronborg (in Helsingoer). There's still lots to do: laugh and play at Tivoli Gardens, ponder the world of politics at Christiansborg Slot, admire the masterpieces at Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, and get engrossed in the history at National Museum of Denmark.

Kick off your visit on the 17th (Sat): make a trip to Skulpturparken Blokhus, don't miss a visit to Kulturhuset Blokhus, then get in on the family fun at Faarup Sommerland, then stroll through Lokken Beach, and finally stop by Blokhus Salt.
