Pamplona or Iruña is the historical capital city of Navarre, in Spain, and of the former Kingdom of Navarre.The city is famous worldwide for the running of the bulls during the San Fermín festival, which is held annually from July 6 to 14. Visiting Parque Natural Urbasa Andia and Cueva de las Guixas will get you outdoors. Explore hidden gems such as Parque de Yamaguchi and Hecho Valley. Change things up with these side-trips from Pamplona: Cueva de Mendukilo (in Astitz), Mallos de Riglos (in Riglos) and River Rafting & Tubing (in Huesca). On the 6th (Sat), spend a day ambling around Selva de Oza. There's still lots to do: explore the historical opulence of Palacio Real de Olite, take a peaceful walk through Bosque de Orgi, Head underground at Cuevas de Urdazubi Urdax, and explore the stunning scenery at Foz de Arbayun.
