Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Rome is known for historic sites, nightlife, museums, classes, and shopping. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: delve into the distant past at Colosseum, explore the world behind art at Galleria Borghese, steep yourself in history at St. Peter's Basilica, and admire the landmark architecture of Pantheon.

London, UK to Rome is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight; or take a train. The time zone changes from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) to Central European Time (CET), which is usually a 1 hour difference. In July, Rome is a bit warmer than London - with highs of 37°C and lows of 24°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Mon) to allow time to travel to Bordeaux.

With a long history of producing regional wines since the Romans brought grapevines here during the first century, so many people consider Bordeaux to be the wine capital of the world.
Explore Bordeaux's surroundings by going to Chateau Lestevenie (in Gageac-et-Rouillac), Réserve Ornithologique du Teich (in Le Teich) and Chateau Belingard (in Pomport). There's still lots to do: take in the dramatic natural features at Dune du Pilat, indulge in some personalized pampering at Institut de Beaute de la Mer Morte, don't miss a visit to Place de la Bourse (Place Royale), and admire the landmark architecture of Pey-Berland Tower.

You'll find plenty of places to visit near Amsterdam: Keukenhof (in Lisse), The Hague (The Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery & Vredespaleis) and Frans Hals Museum (in Haarlem). And it doesn't end there: explore the world behind art at Van Gogh Museum, get engrossed in the history at Anne Frank House, contemplate the long history of Museum Het Rembrandthuis (Rembrandt House), and wander the streets of The Jordaan.
