Writer Pearl Buck once called New York City “a place apart,” and this giant urban center remains unlike any other in the world.
On the 26th (Mon), enjoy breathtaking views from Empire State Building and then admire the masterpieces at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. On your second day here, see the interesting displays at 9/11 Memorial and then go for a walk through Central Park.

Toronto, Canada to New York City is an approximately 5-hour combination of ferry and flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Toronto in December, things will get somewhat warmer in New York City: highs are around 48°F and lows about 36°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 28th (Wed) to allow time for the flight to Tybee Island.

Tybee Island is a city and barrier island located in Chatham County, Georgia, 18 miles (29 km) east of Savannah, United States. Take a break from the city and head to Tybee Island Beach and Savannah River Beach. Visit Mid Beach and Back River Beach for some beach relaxation. There's more to do: visit a coastal fixture at Cockspur lighthouse.

Fly from New York City to Tybee Island in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and taxi. Plan for somewhat warmer temperatures traveling from New York City in December, with highs in Tybee Island at 64°F and lows at 48°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 31st (Sat) so you can drive to Savannah.

Georgia's oldest city, Savannah displays its colonial history proudly on every corner.
Kick off your visit on the 1st (Sun): kick back and relax at Coligny Beach and then stroll through Hilton Head Island Bike Trails. On the 2nd (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take a stroll through Savannah Historic District, stroll around Forsyth Park, explore the different monuments and memorials at Bonaventure Cemetery, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, and finally stroll around Lafayette Square.

Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
Get a sense of the local culture at Fort Zachary Taylor and The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum. Get in touch with nature at Dry Tortugas National Park and Dolphin & Whale Watching. There's much more to do: paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour, don't miss a visit to Duval Street, identify plant and animal life at Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory, and look for gifts at De La Gallery.

A tiny city just 16 km (10 mi) long, Marathon is spread across several islands in the middle of the Florida Keys.
Step off the beaten path and head to The Turtle Hospital and Dolphin Research Center. Relax by the water at Bahia Honda State Park and Sunset Park Beach. And it doesn't end there: stroll through Sombrero Beach, paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour, get answers to all your questions at Pigeon Key, and choose your vessel at All Aboard Boat Rentals.

Getting from Key West to Marathon by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a bus. In January, daytime highs in Marathon are 77°F, while nighttime lows are 66°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 14th (Sat) to allow time for travel back home.
