A fairly humble collection of farming and fishing villages and towns until 1979, you wouldn't guess as much when taking a tour of Shenzhen.
Kick off your visit on the 3rd (Thu): identify plant and animal life at Shenzhen Wild-life Zoo, then stroll around Shenzhen Bay Park, and then get to know the fascinating history of Shenzhen Xianhu Botanical Garden (North Gate). Here are some ideas for day two: wander the streets of Shenzhen Zhongying Street and then kick back and relax at Xichong Beach.
