Nearly destroyed by war during the 1990s, the riverside city of Sarajevo now serves as one of the region's major educational, cultural, and commercial hubs.

Jajce

Jajce is a town and municipality located in the central part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the Bosanska Krajina region. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Jajce: Vlasic Mountain (in Kresevo) and Travnik (Stari grad, Museum Birth House of Nobel Prize Winner Ivo Andric, &more). There's still lots to do: admire the sheer force of Pliva Waterfall, explore the ancient world of Temple of Mithras, contemplate the waterfront views at Pliva Lakes, and don't miss a visit to Watermills.

Trebinje

Trebinje is the southernmost municipality and city in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Change things up with a short trip to Vjetrenica in Zavala (about 50 minutes away). There's still lots to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Tvrdoš Monastery, take in the views from Arslanagica Bridge, don't miss a visit to Trg Slobode, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Hercegovacka Gracanica.

You can drive from Jajce to Trebinje in 4.5 hours. Another option is to take a bus. Traveling from Jajce in July, plan for somewhat warmer nights in Trebinje, with lows around 24°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Sun) to allow time to drive to Mostar.

Mostar

Famed for its 16th-century bridge, Mostar boasts a rich cultural and architectural heritage.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Mostar: Medjugorje (Apparition Hill & il Monte Della Croce) and Kravica (in Studenci). While traveling from Trebinje, expect a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Mostar, ranging from highs of 39°C to lows of 22°C.
