The gateway to one of the largest monastery complexes in Greece, the small town of Kalambaka nestles against a landscape of imposing rock formations rising 400 m (1,300 ft) into the air. Nearly leveled during World War II, the town rebuilt and reinvented itself in the post-war period, quickly becoming one of the region's major travel destinations.
Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Meteora e-Bike. Start off your visit on the 6th (Sun): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Porta Panagia, take an in-depth tour of Hellenic Culture Museum, pause for some serene contemplation at Byzantine Church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary, see the interesting displays at Digital Projection Centre of Meteora’s History and Culture, then look for gifts at Meteora Sandals (Ekfrasi), and finally take a memorable tour with Meteora e-Bike. Keep things going the next day: learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Filoneikos, take in the views from Palaiokarya’s Stone Bridge, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Koursoum Mosque, then take a stroll through Old City of Trikala, and finally snap pictures at Stone Bridge Gate.

If you are flying in from Canada, the closest major airports are Aktion National Airport, Thessaloniki Macedonia International Airport and Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport. In October in Kalambaka, expect temperatures between 22°C during the day and 11°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Mon) early enough to travel back home.
