A trip to Fukuyama, a riverside city known for its fragrant roses, is not complete without a visit to its main attraction, a quaint port village lined with old wooden houses and fishing boats.
Start off your visit on the 1st (Fri): appreciate the extensive heritage of Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, then admire the masterpieces at Ohara Museum of Art, then step into the grandiose world of Fukuyama Castle, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tomo no Ura. Here are some ideas for day two: stroll around Tomo Park, step off the mainland to explore Sensui Island, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Senkoji & Senkoji Park.

If you are flying in from Canada, the closest major airports are Hiroshima Airport, Okayama Airport and Takamatsu Airport. In November, daytime highs in Fukuyama are 16°C, while nighttime lows are 9°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Sat) to allow enough time to travel back home.
