The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju, has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.
Change things up with these side-trips from Jeju: Seogwipo (Seongsan Ilchulbong & Gasiri Wind Power Plant). The adventure continues: Head underground at Manjanggul Cave, stroll around Hallim Park, take a peaceful walk through Bijarim Forest, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Gwaneumsa Temple.

Tourism in Sokcho mostly revolves around the local national park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Wed): explore the striking landscape of Seoraksan National Park. Keep things going the next day: witness a stunning natural landmark at Cheoksan Foot Spa Park, then admire the sheer force of Biryong Falls, then trek along Ulsanbawi Rock, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sinheungsa Temple.

When traveling from Sokcho in October, plan for a bit warmer days in Busan, with highs around 26°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sun) so you can drive to Gyeongju.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Start off your visit on the 17th (Mon): contemplate the long history of Seokguram, take in the spiritual surroundings of Bulguksa Temple, and then pause for some photo ops at Royal Tomb of King Jinpyeong. On the 18th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: examine the collection at Gyeongju National Museum, then explore the activities along Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, and then contemplate the long history of Cheonmachong Tomb.

A sprawling metropolis and center for research, Daejeon stands as the fifth largest city in South Korea.
