Pamplona or Iruña is the historical capital city of Navarre, in Spain, and of the former Kingdom of Navarre. The city is famous worldwide for the running of the bulls during the San Fermín festival, which is held annually from July 6 to 14. Discover out-of-the-way places like Parque de La Taconera and Museo Universidad de Navarra. Venture out of the city with trips to Logrono (Calle San Juan, Marques de Murrieta, & more), Cenicero (Bodegas Tritium & Bodegas Valentin Pascual) and Vitoria-Gasteiz (Anillo Verde, Parque de la Florida, & more). Next up on the itinerary: make a trip to Parroquia San Lorenzo, head outdoors with Parque de Yamaguchi, see the interesting displays at Emoz, and pause for some serene contemplation at Iglesia de San Nicolas.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major airports are Bilbao Airport, Zaragoza Air Base and Santander Airport. In January, daytime highs in Pamplona are 11°C, while nighttime lows are 1°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Fri) to allow enough time to travel back home.
