A rather long and narrow city spread along both sides of the Weser River, Bremen has more than a thousand years of history.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Historische Altstadt and St. Peter's Cathedral (St. Petri Dom). Visiting The Wadden Sea, Germany and Sudstrand will get you outdoors. Step out of Bremen to go to Leer and see Schloss Evenburg, which is approximately 1h 25 min away.
