Oviedo is the capital city of the Principality of Asturias in northern Spain and the administrative and commercial centre of the region. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Cabo Vidio and Desfiladero Les Xanes. Visit Playa del Silencio and Aguilar Beach for some beach relaxation. Venture out of the city with trips to Faro Vidio (in Cudillero), Iglesia de Santa Cristina de Lena (in Pola de Lena) and Bermiego (in Quiros Municipality). The adventure continues: examine the collection at Ecomuseo Minero Valle de Samuno, steep yourself in history at Termas Romanas de Campo Valdes, enjoy the sand and surf at Playa de San Lorenzo, and head outdoors with Senda del Oso.

Milan, Italy to Oviedo is an approximately 8.5-hour combination of flight and bus. You can also fly; or drive. Llanes is a municipality of the province of Asturias, in northern Spain. Your inner history buff will appreciate Ruta'l Quesu y la Sidra and Santuario De Covadonga. Step off the beaten path and head to Playa de Cuevas del Mar and Beach of La Franca. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Llanes: Santa Cueva de Covadognga (in Covadonga), Cueva de El Pindal (in Pimiango) and Climbing Tours (in Arriondas).
