A World Heritage Site, Bath has been one of Europe’s most popular spa destinations since the Roman era.
Museum-lovers will get to explore The Roman Baths and Brunel's SS Great Britain. Do some cultural sightseeing at Bath Abbey and Stonehenge. Explore Bath's surroundings by going to St Fagans National Museum of History (in Cardiff), Dunster Castle (in Dunster) and St Cadoc's church (in Llancarfan). Bournemouth is a large coastal resort town on the south coast of England directly to the east of the Jurassic Coast, a 155km World Heritage Site. Get a sense of the local culture at Corfe Castle and Salisbury Cathedral. Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and The Tank Museum will appeal to museum buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bournemouth: Portsmouth (HMS Warrior 1860 & The Mary Rose Museum, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard) and Weymouth Beach (in Weymouth). There's lots more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Bournemouth Beach, stroll through Sandbanks Beach, and identify plant and animal life at Hengistbury Head.
