Eternal City
Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Via Condotti and Serra. You'll explore and learn at Vatican Museums and Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant'Angelo. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Rome: Tivoli (Villa Adriana & Villa d'Este). If you are flying in from Singapore, the closest major airports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport and Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport. You can take a train from Rome to Pompeii in 2.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. February in Pompeii sees daily highs of 17°C and lows of 7°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 2nd (Tue) to allow time for travel to Pisa.
