Although its history goes back a thousand years, Gdansk represents one of Poland's most modern urban centers, its thriving economy boosted by a lively tourism sector.
Muzeum Zamkowe w Malborku and Sanktuarium Matki Bozej Brzemiennej will appeal to history buffs. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Old Town and Westerplatte. There's still lots to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Mary's Church, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Dominikanie Gdańsk - Bazylika pw. Świętego Mikołaja | St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, steep yourself in history at Gdańsk Town Hall, and go for a walk through Motlawa Channel Fortifications.

Vancouver, Canada to Gdansk is an approximately 16-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight; or do a combination of bus and flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 9 hours traveling from Vancouver to Gdansk. Expect little chillier evenings in Gdansk when traveling from Vancouver in May, with lows around 8°C. Known to most by its German name Auschwitz, the modestly sized city of Oswiecim sits at the foot of the Jura Mountains, just 50 km (30 mi) west of Krakow.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Sat): don't miss a visit to Church of the Transfiguration, then get to know the fascinating history of Main Market Square, and then contemplate the long history of Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau.

You can drive from Warsaw to Oswiecim in 4 hours. Other options are to take a train; or do a combination of flight and train. June in Oswiecim sees daily highs of 26°C and lows of 13°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Krakow.

One of Poland's oldest cities, Krakow sits at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains, its historical town center nestled on the left bank of the Vistula River.
Get a sense of the local culture at Krakow's Rynek Glowny Central Square and Wieliczka Salt Mine. Popular historic sites such as Wawel Royal Castle and Wawel Cathedral are in your itinerary.
