Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Start off your visit on the 21st (Fri): wander the streets of Odaiba and then wander the streets of Ginza. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 22nd (Sat): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sensō-ji, then make a trip to Tokyo National Museum, then take a stroll through Takeshita Street, and finally examine the collection at Samurai Museum.

Sydney, Australia to Tokyo is an approximately 12.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. You'll gain 1 hour traveling from Sydney to Tokyo due to the time zone difference. In June, Tokyo is a bit warmer than Sydney - with highs of 30°C and lows of 22°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 22nd (Sat) early enough to travel to Matsue.

You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Kodai-ji Temple and Kennin-ji Temple. Get some historical perspective at Nijo Castle and Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Kyoto: Osaka (Dotonbori & Osaka Castle). There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, make a trip to Gion, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Kinkaku-ji.

Traveling by combination of taxi, flight, and train from Matsue to Kyoto takes 4 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of taxi and flight. In June, daytime highs in Kyoto are 32°C, while nighttime lows are 22°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 27th (Thu) early enough to travel to Ishigaki.

Start off your visit on the 28th (Fri): stroll through Yonehara Beach, then enjoy the sea views from Cape Hirakubozaki, and then enjoy breathtaking views from Tamatorizaki Observatory. You can do a combination of train and flight from Kyoto to Ishigaki in 6 hours. Another option is to fly. In June, Ishigaki is somewhat warmer than Kyoto - with highs of 37°C and lows of 32°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Sat) to allow time to ride a ferry to Iriomote-jima.

Iriomote-jima

Taketomicho Iriomote-Jima stands as the second largest island in Okinawa.
