The Birthplace of Democracy

One of the world's most ancient cities, Athens remains Europe's undisputed historical and cultural capital.
Attractions like Limni Vouliagmeni and National Archaeological Museum make great kid-friendly stops. Step off the beaten path and head to Akrokorinthos and Scuba & Snorkeling. Change things up with these side-trips from Athens: Khalkis (Bridge of Khalkis & Emir Zade Mosque) and Moni Osiou Patapiou (in Loutraki). The time zone difference moving from Western European Standard Time to Eastern European Standard Time is 2 hours. In July, Athens is a bit warmer than Lisbon - with highs of 38°C and lows of 28°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Sun) early enough to fly to Milos.

The result of thousands of years of volcanic activity, the island of Milos features a craggy coastline interspersed by shallow beaches.
On the 17th (Mon), kick back and relax at Sarakiniko Beach, then enjoy the sand and surf at Mandrakia Beach, then step into the grandiose world of Venetian Castle of Milos, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Firiplaka Beach. Traveling from Athens in July, you will find days in Milos are slightly colder (34°C), and nights are about the same (26°C). Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Wed) so you can ride a ferry to Fira.
