With a long history of producing regional wines since the Romans brought grapevines here during the first century, so many people consider Bordeaux to be the wine capital of the world.
Visit Place de la Bourse and Monolithic Church of Saint-Emilion for their historical value. Get out of town with these interesting Bordeaux side-trips: La Grande Dune du Pilat (in Pyla-sur-Mer), Chateau Cantenac (in Saint-Emilion) and Chateau de Reignac (in Saint-Loubes). There's still lots to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Andre Cathedral, see the interesting displays at La Cite du Vin, admire the striking features of Pey-Berland Tower, and enjoy the sand and surf at Plage du Pin Sec.

Trémolat is a commune in the Dordogne department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France. Appreciate the collections at Moulin de la Rouzique and Lascaux Caves 4. Chateau Belingard and The Maison Forte de Reignac will appeal to history buffs. Get out of town with these interesting Tremolat side-trips: Chateau de Monbazillac (in Monbazillac), Castelnaud-la-Chapelle (Chateau des Milandes & Chateau de Castelnaud) and Chateau Lardy (in Razac-de-Saussignac).
