Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Step out of Helsinki with an excursion to Nuuksio National Park in Espoo--about 34 minutes away. There's lots more to do: admire the landmark architecture of Temppeliaukio Church, contemplate the long history of Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum, take in the spiritual surroundings of Kamppi Chapel of Silence, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Helsinki Cathedral.

Cairo, Egypt to Helsinki is an approximately 10.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of car, train, and ferry. Traveling from Cairo in August, expect Helsinki to be colder, temps between 24°C and 13°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 31st (Wed) so you can drive to Turku.

Traveling by car from Helsinki to Turku takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or take a train. In August, plan for daily highs up to 23°C, and evening lows to 12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Sat) to allow enough time to fly to Savonlinna.

Savonlinna — 2 nights

The picturesque town of Savonlinna sits on two islands surrounded by shimmering lakes and lush greenery.
On the 4th (Sun), don't miss a visit to Rapio Mill, contemplate the waterfront views at Siikalahti Wetland, and then contemplate the long history of Parikkalan kirkko. Koli National Park — 3 nights
