Prague lures millions of tourists each year with its World Heritage-listed medieval city center--a labyrinth of narrow lanes, bridges, cathedrals, and palaces overlooked by a thousand-year-old castle.
On the 23rd (Sat), contemplate the long history of Old Town Square and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Spanish Synagogue. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: appreciate the extensive heritage of Prague Castle, stroll the grounds of Old Jewish Cemetery, and then contemplate the long history of Prague Astronomical Clock.

Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Basilica di San Marco and St. Mark's Square will appeal to history buffs. There's much more to do: admire the landmark architecture of Porta della Carta, take in the views from Ponte di Rialto, appreciate the extensive heritage of Campo del Ghetto, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chiesa di San Giorgio dei Greci.

Fly from Prague to Venice in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and train; or drive. Traveling from Prague in December, expect nights in Venice to be about the same, around 1°C, while days are a bit warmer, around 10°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Fri) early enough to take a train to Florence.

Kick off your visit on the 30th (Sat): take in panoramic vistas at Campanile di Giotto, examine the collection at Uffizi Gallery, and then don't miss a visit to The Baptistery of St. John.
