Rich in museums, restaurants, shops, and historical sites, Boston attracts over 16 million visitors each year. New England's largest and most influential city, Boston ranks among the world's major centers of education and culture.
Kick off your visit on the 25th (Sat): get to know the fascinating history of Freedom Trail, admire all the interesting features of Fenway Park, and then take in nature's colorful creations at Boston Public Garden. On the next day, explore the world behind art at Museum of Fine Arts, then get your bearings at Boston Public Library, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Louisburg Square, and finally stroll through Boston Common.

Plymouth to Boston is an approximately 1-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or take a train. In August in Boston, expect temperatures between 81°F during the day and 66°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 27th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Plymouth.

Rightly calling itself "America's Hometown," Plymouth holds a prominent place in the nation's history and culture as the site of the first Puritan colony.
Change things up with these side-trips from Plymouth: Marketplace At Pirates Cove (in South Yarmouth), Provincetown (Dolphin & Whale Watching, Long Point, & more) and Corn Hill Beach (in Truro). There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Heritage Museums & Gardens, kick back and relax at Marconi Beach, stroll through Chatham Lighthouse Beach, and explore the landscape on two wheels at Shining Sea Bikeway.
