It's quite possible that a Baghdad holiday isn't on your list of things to do, but despite the city's reputation for turmoil, it still has plenty to offer to a daring traveler.
Pack the 16th (Wed) with family-friendly diversions at Zawraa Park. There's still lots to do: browse the exhibits of Iraqi Museum, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Buratha Mosque, buy something for everyone on your list at Al Mansur Mall, and stop by Babylon Mall.

Tehran, Iran to Baghdad is an approximately 2.5-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 0.5 hours traveling from Tehran to Baghdad. Prepare for a bit warmer weather when traveling from Tehran in June: high temperatures in Baghdad hover around 48°C and lows are around 30°C. Karbala

Karbala is a city in central Iraq, located about 100km southwest of Baghdad, and a few miles east of Lake Milh. Go for a jaunt from Karbala to Al Hillah to see Babylon about 1h 10 min away. And it doesn't end there: don't miss a visit to Imam Hussain's Shrine, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tal Al Zainabeiah site, and contemplate the long history of Shrine of the two sons of Muslim Ibn Aqeel.
