A modern metropolis of glassy skyscrapers, waterside boulevards, and lush residential neighborhoods, Perth sits on the edge of the Swan Coastal Plain.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Perth: Fremantle (The Fremantle Round House & Fremantle Prison). Dedicate the 19th (Thu) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's much more to do: admire the natural beauty at Kings Park and Botanic Garden, admire the striking features of The Goods Shed, contemplate the long history of The Perth Mint, and stroll around Windsor Park.

Chandigarh, India to Perth is an approximately 19-hour flight. The time zone changes from India Standard Time to Australian Western Standard Time, which is usually a 2.5 hour difference. Esperance — 2 nights

Esperance is a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, on the Southern Ocean coastline approximately 720km east-southeast of the state capital, Perth. Start off your visit on the 20th (Fri): explore the striking landscape of Cape Le Grand National Park. On your second day here, enjoy the sand and surf at Ten Mile Lagoon, kick back and relax at Twilight Bay, then cruise along Great Ocean Drive, and finally don't miss a visit to Esperance Whale Tail.

You can fly from Perth to Esperance in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Plan for a bit cooler temperatures traveling from Perth in January, with highs in Esperance at 32°C and lows at 17°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Sat) to allow time to drive to Bremer Bay.

Bremer Bay is a coastal town situated on the south coast of Western Australia in the Great Southern region between Albany and Esperance, at the mouth of the Bremer River. Albany — 4 nights

Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Explore Albany's surroundings by going to Denmark (The Toffee Factory, Greens Pool, &more). There's still lots to do: examine the collection at National Anzac Centre, steep yourself in history at The Albany Convict Gaol & Museum, take in the dramatic natural features at The Gap and Natural Bridge, and enjoy the sand and surf at Emu Point.

A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.
Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Margaret River: Dunsborough (Meelup Beach & Climbing Naturaliste) and Augusta (Jewel Cave & Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse).
