The capital of the island of Madeira for more than 500 years, Funchal represents a laid-back city made popular by its historical sites and climate.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Colegio dos Jesuitas do Funchal and Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Monte. Ponta do Pargo Lighthouse and Madeira Film Experience are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Step out of Funchal to go to Santana and see Levada Caldeirao Verde, which is approximately 46 minutes away. Make the 23rd (Tue) a memorable day with a climbing tour. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Sameiro Sanctuary and Se de Braga. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Largo da Oliveira and Palacio da Bolsa. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Porto: Igreja de São Gonçalo (in Amarante) and Guimaraes (Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Oliveira & Citania de Briteiros). Originally a small fishing village, Portimão today serves as one of the most populated towns in the Algarve and also a favorite spot for sailing.
Kick off your visit on the 28th (Sun): take a memorable tour with Tours, stop by Aqua Portimao, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Ponta Da Piedale, then visit a coastal fixture at Lagos Farol da Ponta da Piedade, and finally visit a coastal fixture at Cape Saint Vincent. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: kick back and relax at Tres Castelos Beach, pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Misericordia of Alvor, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Joao de Arens Beach, and finally kick back and relax at Vau Beach.
