Algonquin Provincial Park

Sandwiched between Georgian Bay and the Ottawa River, Algonquin Provincial Park is the oldest provincial park in Canada and a stunning outdoor playground that draws crowds of nature enthusiasts with its biodiversity.
Change things up with a short trip to Highlander Brew Co. in South River (about 1h 20 min away). There's still lots to do: trek along Beaver Pond Trail, tour the pleasant surroundings at Track & Tower Trail, contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Opeongo, and examine the collection at Algonquin Logging Museum.

Kirkland to Algonquin Provincial Park is an approximately 5.5-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of car and flight. Traveling from Kirkland in June, Algonquin Provincial Park is slightly colder at night with lows of 10°C. At the tip of Bruce Peninsula, little Tobermory is a big tourist destination for visitors interested in learning or perfecting their scuba diving skills.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Bruce Peninsula National Park and Flowerpot Island. Spend the 2nd (Sat) exploring nature at Fathom Five National Marine Park.
