Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Ashford Castle and Lahinch Beach. Discover out-of-the-way places like Galway City Museum and Galway's Latin Quarter. Step out of Galway to go to Kylemore and see Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Garden, which is approximately 1h 30 min away. Prepare for somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Galway in December: high temperatures in Killarney hover around 12°C and lows are around 7°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Thu) so you can drive to Cork.

One of the country's major artistic and cultural centers, famed for its many annual festivals, Cork straddles the Lee River and boasts over 30 bridges.
Museum-lovers will appreciate Cobh Cathedral and Inchydoney Beach. Your inner history buff will appreciate Cobh Heritage Centre -The Queenstown Story and Drombeg Stone Circle. Get out of town with these interesting Cork side-trips: Kinsale (Old Head Golf Links & Charles Fort). There's lots more to do: pause for some serene contemplation at St. Anne's Church, stop by Blarney Chocolate Factory, step into the grandiose world of Blarney Castle & Gardens, and get engrossed in the history at Cork City Gaol.
