Trier may be the oldest city in Germany, founded long before the Roman times.
Visit Reichsburg Cochem and Saint Gangolf's Church for their historical value. Get a sense of the local culture at Mosel Valley and Liebfrauenkirche, Trier. Change things up with a short trip to Schalkenmehrener Maar in Schalkenmehren (about 50 minutes away).
