Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
Start off your visit on the 26th (Fri): ponder the design of Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor).

Los Angeles, USA to Lima is an approximately 10-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight. The time zone changes from Pacific Standard Time to Peru Time, which is usually a 3 hour difference.
