Lusaka — 5 nights

Tourism in Lusaka, Zambia's commercial and government center, thrives mostly due to its central location and well-connected airport, making it a gateway for exploring the country's numerous nature reserves and national parks.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Cathedral of The Holy Cross Lusaka and Kalimba Reptile Park. Get some cultural insight at Zambia National Museum and 37D Gallery. Change things up with a short trip to Kapishya Hot Springs in North Luangwa National Park (about 12h 15 min away). Spend the 12th (Tue) in the pleasant surroundings of Chaminuka Game Reserve. Spend the 13th (Wed) exploring nature at Lower Zambezi National Park. There's much more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Lilayi Elephant Nursery, browse the different shops at Eastpark Mall, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Jame Mosque, and look for gifts at Kabwata Cultural Village.

Air Conditioned State
Landlocked Zambia remains best known, a little counter intuitively perhaps, for its bodies of water. Three large rivers run through the country, with most of the big urban areas and smaller settlements sticking close to waterways and the valleys they've cut over millennia. Holidays in Zambia are adventurous affairs, with real planning required to get the most out of the country--foreign visitors find the infrastructure lacking and familiar comforts practically nonexistent. Traditional villages remain the most culturally rewarding places to visit in Zambia, while superlative natural features include animal-rich national parks and picturesque waterfalls.
