A modern metropolis of glassy skyscrapers, waterside boulevards, and lush residential neighborhoods, Perth sits on the edge of the Swan Coastal Plain.You'll find plenty of places to visit near Perth: Fremantle Prison (in Fremantle), Dolphin & Whale Watching (in Mandurah) and North Dog Beach (in South Fremantle). Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.Start off your visit on the 25th (Sun): explore the striking landscape at Elephant Rocks, then kick back and relax at Greens Pool, and then kick back and relax at Lights Beach. On the 26th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: examine the collection at National Anzac Centre, then enjoy the sand and surf at Little Beach, and then take in the dramatic natural features at The Gap and Natural Bridge.
