The tiny town of Friday Harbor is the largest village on the San Juan Islands, and it fits within just 2.6 km (1 sq mi) of space.
Do some cultural sightseeing at The Whale Museum and Island Studios. Get in touch with nature at Pelindaba Lavender Farm and Moran State Park. The adventure continues: find something for the whole family at Zip San Juan, paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour, soothe aching muscles at some of the top local wellness centers, and don't miss a visit to Lime Kiln Point State Park Interpretive Center.

Roanoke to Friday Harbor is an approximately 10.5-hour combination of bus, flight, and tram. You can also do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of bus, train, and flight. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time to Pacific Standard Time, which is usually a -3 hour difference. Prepare for slightly colder weather when traveling from Roanoke in June: high temperatures in Friday Harbor hover around 67°F and lows are around 47°F.
