Theme Park Capital of the World

For most people, any mention of Orlando immediately conjures up images of sprawling theme parks filled with characters plucked right out of popular animated movies.
Escape the urban bustle at Bicentennial Beach Park and Andy Romano Beachfront Park. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art and Derek Gores Gallery. Get out of town with these interesting Orlando side-trips: Beach at Daytona Beach (in Daytona Beach) and Pelican Beach Park (in Satellite Beach). Have a day of magic on the 8th (Mon) at Walt Disney World Resort. There's still lots to do: browse the different shops at The Mall at Millenia and look for all kinds of wild species at Audubon Center for Birds of Prey.

Separated by water from the neighboring city of Miami, Miami Beach sits on a barrier island between Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.
Lincoln Road and Art Deco Historic District will appeal to history buffs. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Fort Lauderdale Beach and Lummus Park Beach. Venture out of the city with trips to Fort Lauderdale Beach Park (in Fort Lauderdale) and Everglades National Park (Slough Slog, Gumbo Limbo Trail, &more). And it doesn't end there: wander the streets of Collins Avenue, see the interesting displays at The Wolfsonian - Florida International University, kick back and relax at 12th Street Beach, and stroll through Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park.

In January, Miami Beach is much hotter than Disney - with highs of 29°C and lows of 20°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 17th (Wed) so you can catch the flight to New York City.
