Turin

— 14 nights

City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Santuario della Consolata and Chiesa di Santa Maria del Monte dei Cappuccini. Museum-lovers will get to explore Museum of the Risorgimento and Fondazione Accorsi Ometto - Museo di Arti Decorative. Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Castello Reale di Sarre (in Sarre), Castello di Issogne (in Issogne) and Castello di Verres (in Verres). There's still lots to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Abbazia di Santa Maria di Staffarda, explore the historical opulence of Castello di Serralunga d'Alba, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sacro Monte di Orta, and get engrossed in the history at Museo del Carcere Le Nuove.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Expect a daytime high around 59°F in April, and nighttime lows around 47°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Wed) to allow time to travel back home.
