Turin — 14 nights

City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Take a break from the city and head to Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso and Colline di Torino. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Sacro Monte di Orta and Castello di Issogne. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Turin: Forte Di Exilles (in Exilles), Museo Forte Bramafam (in Bardonecchia) and Giardini del Belvedere (in Mondovi). There's still lots to do: step into the grandiose world of Castello di Verres, pause for some serene contemplation at Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Grazie, admire the landmark architecture of Aosta Old Town, and delve into the distant past at Criptoportico Forense.

For reviews, other places to visit, traveler tips, and more tourist information, refer to the Turin trip planning site.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In August, plan for daily highs up to 76°F, and evening lows to 64°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
