The country's capital since 1963, Islamabad has the look and feel of a planned administrative city because, by and large, that's exactly what it is.
Step out of the city life by going to Margalla Hills and Rawal Lake. Change things up with a short trip to Ayub National Park in Rawalpindi (about 36 minutes away). Next up on the itinerary: take a stroll through Saidpur Village, walk around Pir Sohawa, get great views at Daman-e-Koh, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Faisal Mosque.

You can fly from Sukkur to Islamabad in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train, bus, and taxi. The notable peaks that surround Skardu may be rugged, daunting, and otherworldly, but the imposing reputation of its most famous natural attractions belies the more fertile, diverse, and homely aspects of the town.
Take a break from the city and head to Deosai National Park and Upper Kachura Lake. Step out of Skardu to go to Shigar and see Amburiq Mosque, which is approximately 54 minutes away. There's lots more to do: admire the sheer force of Manthokha Waterfall, contemplate the waterfront views at Satpara Lake, explore the fascinating landscape at Katpana Desert (Cold Desert), and examine the collection at K2 Museum.
