You can drive from Dundee to Inverness in 2.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or take a bus. Expect slightly colder evenings in Inverness when traveling from Dundee in October, with lows around 41°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Mon) to allow time to travel to Kirkwall.
