The largest city on Canada's eastern coastline, Halifax boast a rich maritime history and occupies a strategically important location with one of the world's greatest natural harbors.
We've included these beaches for you: Lawrencetown Beach and Crystal Crescent Beach Provincial Park. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21. Get out of town with these interesting Halifax side-trips: Clam Harbour Beach (in Clam Harbour) and Peggy's Cove Lighthouse (in Peggy's Cove). There's much more to do: get great views at Halifax Citadel National Historic Site of Canada, ponder the world of politics at Province House, stroll through Point Pleasant Park, and admire the natural beauty at Halifax Public Gardens.

Toronto to Halifax is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Atlantic Standard Time (AST), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Traveling from Toronto in June, expect Halifax to be little chillier, temps between 21°C and 11°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 1st (Sun) early enough to travel to Riverport.

Start off your visit on the 1st (Sun): enjoy the sand and surf at Hirtle's Beach and then look for all kinds of wild species at The Ovens Natural Park.

Annapolis Royal, formerly known as Annapolis, is a town located in the western part of Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, Canada.Today's Annapolis Royal evolved from the 1605 French settlement of Port Royal (briefly Charlesfort), renamed in honour of Queen Anne following the Siege of Port Royal in 1710 by Britain. Get some cultural insight at Fort Anne National Historic Site and Prim Point Lighthouse. Explore Annapolis Royal's surroundings by going to Aylesford Lake Beach (in Aylesford) and Cape Chignecto Provincial Park (in Advocate Harbour). There's still lots to do: admire the natural beauty at Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens, learn about winemaking at Bear River Vineyards, examine the collection at Port-Royal National Historic Site, and don't miss a visit to Annapolis Tidal Generating Station.
