Just a little way off the southern end of Grand Terre, Île des Pins (the Isle of Pines) gets its name from the tall columnar pines that stick out of the surrounding vegetation like bristles on a brush.
We've included these beaches for you: Oro Bay and Kuto Bay. Get in touch with nature at Grotte de Hortense and Pic N'Ga. There's much more to do: stroll through Piscine Naturelle, head outdoors with Nokanhoui, don't miss a visit to Upi Bay, and contemplate the waterfront views at Kanumera Bay.

Capital of New Caledonia, Nouméa sits on a large peninsula of attractive, snaking bays.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Anse Vata Beach and Plage de la Baie des Citrons. Musee de Nouvelle Caledonie and Musee de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale will appeal to museum buffs. Change things up with a short trip to Parc Provincial de la Riviere Bleue in Yate (about 1h 20 min away). Spend the 8th (Tue) observing fascinating marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour.
