Osaka — 5 nights

Proud of their hometown's distinct culture and dialect, many natives of Osaka describe their city as "Japan's anti-capital." An antidote to Tokyo's hectic energy, Osaka marches to the beat of its own drum, serving as the country's longtime commercial and industrial hub.
Your list of things to see and do now includes Kuchu Teien Observatory, Arashiyama, Tempozan Ferris Wheel, and other attractions. Family-friendly places like Universal Studios Japan and Gion will thrill your kids. Explore Osaka's surroundings by going to Nara Park (in Nara) and Kyoto (Nijo Castle, Kinkaku-ji, &more). There's still lots to do: observe the fascinating underwater world at Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, take in the spiritual surroundings of Kotokuji Temple, visit Dotombori District, and examine the collection at Namban Culture Center.
