Tokyo is known for historic sites, parks, and shopping. Ljubljana, Slovenia to Tokyo is an approximately 17.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Central European Standard Time (CET) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually an 8 hour difference. Start off your visit on the 18th (Tue): make a trip to Seisonkaku Villa, take in nature's colorful creations at Kenrokuen Garden, steep yourself in history at Nomura Family Samurai House, make a trip to Omicho Market, then take a stroll through Higashichaya Old Town, and finally admire the striking features of Kanazawa Station.

You can fly from Tokyo to Kanazawa in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. Traveling from Tokyo in May, Kanazawa is slightly colder at night with lows of 15°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 18th (Tue) early enough to catch the train to Himeji.

Himeji

The castle around which the city of Himeji has developed represents one of the best preserved in the country, and has been designated as a national treasure and a World Heritage Site.
Kick off your visit on the 19th (Wed): step into the grandiose world of Himeji Castle, then admire the natural beauty at Koko-en, and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Takamikura.

Kyoto

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Venture out of the city with trips to Dotombori District (in Dotombori) and Kuromon Market (in Nippombashi). There's still lots to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, step into the grandiose world of Osaka Castle, wander the streets of Arashiyama, and contemplate the long history of Sanjusangendo Temple.
